In this coming week i'll post something that talk about indonesian culinary. When u think of indonesian food, our food is actually never originated from indonesia but it is influenced by a lot of western ( mainly Dutch, French , and Portuguese) , chinese and indian, and Middle eastern culture.
Have u wondered that there are some foods that we eat in indonesia that actually comes from dutch colonialism?
1. Ceres ( Chocolate sprinkles )
ceres is not originated from Indonesia, but it is bring to Indonesia by the dutch and they called it hagelslag. Dutch used to eat it with bread and butter like we always do in Indonesia
2. Kroket( Croquette)
Made from mash potatoes filled with minced beef or ragout feeling, coated with bread crumb and then deep fried. Croquette is actually from French, however it is very famous in Netherlands that they even sell in McDonald there. Moreover the dutch invented name for the smaller size croquette which is called bitterballen.
3. Perkedel( Frikadel potato/ Potato patties)
Frikadel itself is actually dutch meat loaf or sometimes it can refer to a kind of deep fried meat patties, but i don't have any ideas why they start to make a vegetarian frikadel that we know as perkedel ? I'll find out sooner or later
4. Spekkoek ( Kue lapis/ Layer cake )
OMG i've never know it until today that this layer cake is actually from ducth colonialism. To know more about the cake u can go to foodngarden.com and go find the blog about spekkoek and u'll find interesting fact that lapis is actually not an indonesian language but it is dutch from laa pees = layer
From today research these are the food that i could find but i'll promise to do more research, so that we know what we are eating and where it's come from.

poverty that has positives sides
What does it feel to live in poverty? Worrying to much about money ? Where'll my money come from and how should i pay this and that. Sometimes we even want lots lots of things but we don't have any money to buy it. But have u ever wondered that living in a poverty is like living a challenging life that u never know what will happen next. So what are the positives sides of poverty?
1. Challenges
I think that poverty help us to get through our boring lives because when u are poor u'll have more challenges. ex: u need to work harder than others , u need to pay all your bills fulfill every needs and wants with a very minimum budget. I used to live a lavish life where i don't need to think about money but since i'm working and im a bit tight of budget life is more challenging for me.
It's pretty obvious when i go to grocery shopping i need to stop snacking all that delicious chocolate and change it to woolsworth brand of cookies and chocolate. Instead of eating cashew nuts i need to eat normal peanut because it's cheaper. Moreover when u are poor u'll bcome more eco friendly because ull' only buy fruits which are in seasons because it's CHEAPER. For entertaintment, I only watch movie, order Dominos, eat waffles, and meatballs on tuesday because it's cheaper. For clothing, sometimes when buying a dress i need to wait until my next pay slip coming.Sometimes, i go to FO to get a better deals, hunting on discount voucher and etc( collecting disc voucher is much more useful than collecting frivolous arts). Moreover i'm excited waiting for sale for 6-12 months to buy the dress or the jacket that i really want. It's actually a nice life and a challenging one to become poor once in a while. U know what i want to try ? I'm thinking that one day i'll be forced to become vegetarian because i can't afford meat protein ( other postives sides : u'll get healthier and slimmer and expensive dress will suit you better). Last but not least winter is coming and i'm afraid of cold and also afraid of my electricity bills because of my heater. So u see the challenge that i need to face to coexist with season.
2. Creative
Poverty will make people keep thinking how to find more money and certainly u'll get more creative and smarter in finding better value deal and to find extra income. Ex: street's so called musician ??? AKA PENGAMEN. Other example will be : touching up your resume and promote yourself in an interview in a creative way because u need a job badly ( that happens to me).
3. Comfort
Wonder how poverty can bring comfort? Simple example will be when u plan to go to picnic or bbq in certain park in jakarta u dont have to bring anything because there will be lots2 of people selling food, cold drinks, even hiring tikar for u to sit at there. U want a bbq u can just order sate chicken and sate whatever with a cheaper price and guaranteed that it will be nice. Wonder why there are lots of food sellers ? Because those sellers are poor so they need to make a living somehow. So have u seen how poverty brings comfort for certain people. More importantly if there are no poor people u won't have any maid in indonesia. U'll need to clean your BIG HOUSE ALONE.
Being poor once in a while will not make u suffer but being poor forever will make u suffer because u'll be the one who clean the big house. What i want to tell all the readers here is being poor is not that bad it just that how u see and handle it.

Never Push too Far
Have u pushed people too far? If there is any, who have u pushed? It is often in our lives that we become very demanding and expecting a lot from others without considering others feelings. Sometimes we push people too far until we never know where we have pushed them or will they push back ?
There are 2 ways where u can push people
First Way- Out of our lives
Mostly we expect a lot from people who are dearest to us without realizing that sometimes we have gone too far. At the end those people who love us dearly will never push back but we will push them out from our lives because they can't stand it anymore yet they don't want to hurt us and themselves.
Second Way- Back to U
Never push someone too far that they will push u back. These people are not compassionate towards others and if u push them too far they will push back. They won't keep quiet and they never hesitate to push back. When it comes back to u then only u will realize that u have gone too far but it is too late to pull back .
Different people have different limit that can be pushed. Some people is very sensitive that even when u nudge them they will feel u have pushed too far, while others are a bit tolerant and resistant. Understanding those who are around us is very important so that u know how far u can push them.
At the end of the day maybe we should ask ourselves why those people who we love choose to leave us and why others keep pushing us? Is it because we are the one who push them first at the very beginning?

Facebook and Twitter Users
Today I want to talk about type of people who use facebook and twitter and how they use it
Type 1 AKA LOSERS
- They like to use facebook shout out and twitter to post trashy statement about others or sometimes they use it to express their hatred and anger towards others. This kind of people are total LOSERS and FAILURES because they don't know how to deal with others directly yet they don't want to keep quiet.
Type2 Centre of Attention Wanna be
- This type of users always update their latest picture and whatever they are doing in their shout out and twitter. This type of people like to express whatever they are thinking and doing through their facebook and twitter. Sometimes I think that these people are lonely in the sense of nobody want to hear, see or even care about what they are doing therefore they use twitter and facebook so that EVERYBODY can see and hear them, but not necessarily CARE about what they are saying .
Type 3 Communication ONLY
This type of users only use facebook to communicate to friends, relatives, etc. They tend to reply message or comment, share pictures, and tag photos.
Type 4 STALKER
They use facebook and twitter to find gossips about others or to stalk other people. ( ex: stalking your ex, your dream guy or girl, your friend's friend, etc.) Stalker use facebook and twitter to gain informations. U know what is funny about type 2 and 4? Stalker always Hear and CARE about what's number 2 is saying. HA4 such an irony
So what type of users are u ???? Most importantly this post is created to help u to identify your friend through their twitter and facebook shout out !
